Hi Andrea and Lara: We are all so very proud of you two and we really enjoy reading all your stories and glad you are enjoying the camp. So many things to experience. Everyone here in Canada that you know sends their love. Good interview on CBC Morning News. Lara spoke so very well and represented the cause very well. Looking forward to reading more news and seeing you home.
Love to you both, Mary and Greg (Andrea’s Mom and Step Dad)

Andrea & Lara. My parish in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has an outreach to Northern Uganda. Our parish (Three Holy Women) has a sister parish at Padibe (Sacred Heart of Mary Immaculate). I stumbled on your website while looking for more information about Padibe. My very best to you. I hope that your month at the camp continues to be a rich experience for you. God bless.

First of all I would like to say congrats to Andrea and Lara for providing awareness to the international community about Northern Uganda’s plight in the IDP camps. I read your whole blog and I must say it was written brilliantly! Your cause will not be overshadowed and I commend you for working so hard to show people the reality of life there. It has certainly opened my eyes.

  4. Every effort to bring to an end the suffering of the people of northern Uganda must be welcomed. Indeed any initiative to better the livelihood of the people of northern Uganda is given the support it deserves. However i am cautious when the said initiative is being implemented by the government of Uganda. The Northern Uganda reconstruction programme must be run independently of the government of Uganda but through the district and sub county leadership. There were NARP 1, NARP II, NUPI, NUSAF and many more, there is however no evidence on the ground to show for these programmes. For this reason i am not going to sign your petition, in as much i believe your heart is in a good place, your support for the government implementation of the programme is misplaced.

Lara & Andrea, you are doing a wonderful thing, not only by trying to help people rebuild and re-settle in their homes, but also by introducing us to the real people and their first-hand accounts of life in the camps, and the face of hope after surviving the horrors of war.

A small business grant system would be a brilliant way to make big differences with small amounts of money.

    Thanks for your blog.
